Eaves of a city villa with a hipped roof

Hello,
our idea is a city villa with a hip roof (approx. 22° roof pitch) with 2 full floors.
Now I have become aware of the topic of roof overhang. One provider described 15cm as sufficient. After researching on the web, in addition to the appearance, the protection of the facade from moisture and the shading are mentioned as positive aspects.
What do you think?

15cm - looks stupid in my opinion! (Haus vom Nikolaus) 50cm is already okay, then the windows don't get so much rain.

That is an individual decision - and the facade should also withstand the rain accordingly - which it does on the ground floor! The "usual" measure varies quite a bit by region - in Franconia it is usually only a few cm up to 50 cm and in southern Upper Bavaria rather about 1 m or more,... In other words: Decide according to your taste and budget.

We are also building a city villa with 25° which will now have a 50cm roof overhang plus the gutter (at first only 30cm was offered, but that seemed too little to me)

We also have 50cm. I find that very nice and suitable for the house.
But it always depends on individual taste and also on the house. For example, if you build a house of 8x8m and make a one-meter roof overhang on each side, it will not fit into the overall picture.

I do not like a large overhang on a city villa.

Therefore, we have 20 cm.
