Hello,

As a rule, the partners or good friends are witnesses to oral agreements; so in the worst case, it is not really easy to enforce.

Therefore: always confirm in writing and there is proof. Whoever is free from "malice and deceit" understands this procedure.

Rhenish greetings

I would accept the insurance amount.... how does it look? Did the tiler work "privately"?

Hi even if the tiles were laid independently, the damage was caused by the subcontractor of the contractor. Who fixes the damage now cannot be the customer's problem. For the damaged tiles, it does not matter who laid them, and it is the contractor's responsibility to have them professionally replaced by whoever. It would also not matter whether the tiler worked privately or not. But I think by now the problem is resolved, isn't it?

If the construction company has granted access?! For us, our own craftsmen were only allowed into the house after handover, so that something like this wouldn’t happen. The construction company bears the risk – I would check that in the contract first before making a big fuss.
