So we then bought a humidifier. At first, we placed a bowl of water on the fireplace ... that also worked ... but not as well as with the humidifier ... I can definitely recommend it ... it makes the room pleasantly "damp".

Yes? What actually happens there? The dust in the air gets damp and stays on the floor. After that, we can breathe wonderfully. Yes! That's all that happens! Because humans only need DRY air to breathe!!!!!!! Best regards from Dämmunsinn

Hello everyone, I can also recommend a well to you. Although I also have a fireplace, I mostly heat with a combined heat and power plant. So far, I am very satisfied with it. Have a nice weekend

Hello Dämmunsinn,

What does that mean? Satire,...?
There are physiological requirements for the moisture content of our indoor air; our mucous membranes need about 50% humidity (at 22°C room temperature) to function well.
At an indoor humidity of 35/40%, humidifying the indoor air is advisable.
It is important that the dust content of the rooms is kept low - dusty air is perceived by our mucous membranes as dry.

@Dämmunsinn: You want dry air? Preferably with 0% or what?

Yes, dry air is annoying, but we actually always try using the humidifiers on the radiator or lay out damp cloths.

And a fountain doesn't necessarily have to be splashing all the time... :)
