At first glance quite simple. You most likely have a standard component behind the cover as shown in my picture, just without the lever. Measure the distances between the screws and compare. Then simply buy the suitable part and replace it. Of course, don't forget to adjust (or replace) the cover so that the door latch is not obstructed.

Thank you very much. What exactly could obstruct the aperture? That the lever is not accessible? Or did you mean something else? There is already a split part inside now, with the two screws, only it is not movable.

Well, the shared part is more or less incidental. The day latch function also works with continuous ones. But yes, you wouldn’t be able to reach the lever anymore. Or rather, you will have difficulty installing the new part at all, because it requires a bit more space and the locking piece also has to move.

As you can see here, in a day latch the cover is usually not continuous.
