16 mm is a cabinet thickness that can also be found with well-known kitchen manufacturers. If you use primarily Euro screws plus chipboard screws, it will hold.

I have no way to return it. I don’t have a car and colleagues who could drive me live 70 km away. Therefore, it is a logistical challenge. If necessary, I’ll just live with the low cabinets. However, the drawer DIY kit somehow does appeal to me...

I only meant to order the drawer cabinet additionally, but not return anything. The other one without drawers then to the basement or something.
