Does anyone know about photovoltaic systems?

after having installed a solar system on my garage for heating our pool during the summer months for two years and being convinced of the principle, I am now thinking about a photovoltaic system on our house roof. Who has already had experience with it and can tell me how and from when it really pays off and whether it is also possible to install the system yourself?

When a photovoltaic system becomes profitable initially depends on your financing plans and, of course, whether the system is also exposed to optimal conditions. Because the more electricity it can produce, the higher the later return.

Regarding self-installation:

I think for DIY enthusiasts without fear of heights, complete self-installation of the system with appropriate safety measures on flat roofs is certainly feasible. Without craftsmanship skills and on high roofs with slopes, it is better to hire a professional for self-protection. ;)

I have never heard of such a technology. I know solar systems; is this the same? Or is it simply a better solar system?
