Hello,

we want to install solid wood planks, probably pine, on a wooden substructure.
How much space should the substructure (KVH wooden beams) have from the wall so that it is decoupled from the walls.

Best regards
Jens

Maybe it helps.. For us, it looked like this.. so relatively close to the wall.

Make it 1-2cm, just so that no tension can arise at any time. We have basically laid the KVH loosely directly on the floor and only put insulation strips underneath; it fits perfectly. Between them are wood fiber boards.

Thank you for the photo and the practical experience.

@ Arauki11 Do you have another photo of your setup? We also want to use wood fiber boards, I am interested in how the insulation strips lie on the floor, they are for height compensation, right?

I'll take a look, I think so. The floor should be relatively even, no Zenetreste etc. I was also a bit worried and actually wanted to screw it to the floor, like I had in my former house. But in the end, the floorboards are connected over the entire surface of the room and the KVH like a huge board, so nothing wobbles. Actually, I just laid these screed insulation strips (I had some left here) under the KVH. You can also fix it a bit there.

Can you make use of this, if not, let me know? We have done it this way in all rooms except in the bathrooms. The strip was also pulled up on the side towards the wall. Distance each time to the finished fiberboards.
