Distance between house wall and air-to-water heat pump

Hello everyone,

is there a DIN standard specifying how large the distance between the outdoor unit of the air-to-water heat pump and the house wall must be? A passerby who saw our air-to-water heat pump said the distance must always be at least 50 cm (regardless of the model). Is that correct? Can this be looked up somewhere?

the distance to the wall is specified by the manufacturer, this should be stated in the installation or operating manual. Due to the design, there are different distances depending on how the air intake is intended by the manufacturer. For my future Panasonic air-to-water heat pump, it is at least 30cm distance to the wall.

The walker is wrong to my knowledge. Why? - I believe that the distance is always individually determined by the producing company (they usually even always conduct extra tests), so the minimum distance can be under 50cm depending on the model ;) I hope I could help you :D
