Hello dear forum community,

I have a concern again.

Let's assume a potential plot of land shows elevated lead concentrations in the soil.
Does one immediately stay away from such building land? Is the municipality responsible for removing and disposing of the soil? Or does the potential buyer have to bear the costs alone?

Best regards, Tessa

As a rule, the buyer has to bear the costs. But it is regulated in the [Notarvertrag]. I would not buy such a plot of land, as the disposal costs can become enormous depending on how deep you have to go.

Hello Tessa,

That depends on the contents of your wallet ... You will probably have to completely replace the soil.

No, the buyer – unless other agreements have been made with the previous owner of the property – bears all costs of the property and thus also the costs of any soil replacement.

Kind regards
