You don’t have that. At least it doesn’t look like it.

It’s not about east to west, but about the roof orientation along the long side. Like a row house or duplex, but standalone.

Sorry, either I’m completely missing something, or I just don’t understand it.

Our ridge is oriented so that it runs along the shorter side of the house (9 m). The gable ends are 11 m long for us.

That is exactly the configuration that [baunewbiene] describes, isn’t it?

I think it very much depends on how the lengths relate to each other.

For example, 5 m to 10 m will definitely look more unusual than the 8 m to 10 m described by [baunewbiene], when the ridge runs over the shorter side.

Best regards,

Dirk

I can't see that with you - and your blog no longer runs smoothly for me because of the many large images
But you are of course right about the proportions: a townhouse has quite different proportions than an 8 x 10 house...
But it remains a matter of calculation and perspective

Good evening,

What does the development plan say?

Nothing; except that the development plan might prescribe a different ridge direction.

Rhenish regards

Hello,

Sorry; that wasn't exactly one of my cleverest answers

Take a look at the drawing of the building plots in the development plan. Is there a solid line within the marked building boundaries, either horizontal or vertical?

Rhenish greetings

Hello ,

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. I've attached a picture where you can see the property. Don't be confused by the colors and the drawn yellow "house," that's from me... the rest is official (building limit, property boundary,...).

Best regards & thanks...
