Hello forum,

I haven’t found a thread about Digitalstrom here yet and I thought I would change that.
If I understood correctly, the installation is quite simple and can be connected (also afterwards) behind every lamp, switch, and socket. The range of functions is said to be diverse (dimming, intelligent switching of circuits, controlling device functions, etc.)

According to the shop, each terminal costs around 80-100 EUR – quite expensive for each device, I think.

Is there anyone among you who has dealt intensively with the topic or installed it? Do you have further examples of functions? I am interested, but the price is still a bit of a deterrent for me.

Without being able to properly assess it now, to me that sounds like nothing other than KNX or Smart Home, only not as a radio/Wi-Fi/cable variant but as a network laid on the power cable like PowerLan. There are various forums about Smart Home/KNX where you can probably get more output on the topic than here.

Hi,

I find the electric version interesting, as I can also buy it step by step if necessary and later. Currently, my head is already spinning with fear about what great features I have to consider in advance during the construction phase (Audio, network, vacuum system, etc.). I just find it expensive and I would be interested in experiences regarding this.

Best regards

I'll be mean now: Your head will still be spinning with all the wishes and features that will have to be cut from your plan due to costs. UNFORTUNATELY
Sorry – had to say it given the easy setup.

However, I can’t help you further with your topic.

I know, and honestly, I am quite relaxed about it as well. We won't think of everything, and not everything will be perfect. Still, one can lay the foundation on many topics now to benefit from it later. Network technology and audio room programs are important to me and also feasible, controlling lights or heating with an app is more pro B, but also very interesting.

That’s exactly how it was for me too. Despite the very limited time, I dealt intensively with the different possibilities for home automation. I still find the Digitalstrom solution very good - especially the expandability afterward and the renunciation of radio (more stable).

However, the costs are considerable, as you have also noted. Moreover, the system is not yet very widespread; ask for a specialist company near you on the website.

In the end, I only automated the roller shutters with a star connection and a timer switch because the other options (light scenes, weather, alarm, etc.) do not interest me much so far, or it quickly gets very expensive. So far, I don’t see the value for myself.
