Depends on the representative, or as 11ant already says, maybe Mr. G. is about to leave. We had Mr. S. as a sales representative and he was really great! Very nice, experienced, and could immediately answer 95% of the 1000 questions we had. For the rest, he called back quickly to give us the answers. He also gave us tips and advice on some things and during the sampling. He didn’t try to push the most expensive option on us either.

On the one hand, the in-house providers love independent sales agents who also stand watch at the model house and do not clearly show that they are actually not employed. On the other hand, they (and the agent himself as well) have to be careful not to be classified as a pseudo self-employed person. Therefore, some agents work for several companies. If you don’t catch him right in the model house of X, you can sometimes confidentially ask him which Y and Z he also works for, and whether he might have something better on offer there. However, these (for example) three are not necessarily all competitors, but sometimes a timber frame builder, a masonry builder, and a garage door supplier.
