Hello,

my husband and I are planning an ICON 3+ and are still unsure about the layout on the ground floor. Those who have it know what I mean, there is the Select layout. In this one, the kitchen wall is slightly shifted and the living and dining area is thus smaller, but you get another room, which we wanted to use as storage since we are not planning a basement.

However, we are now afraid that the living/dining/kitchen area might feel too cramped or squeezed. Is there anyone out there who has such a layout and can tell us how it looks and why you decided on it?

Regards, Lilly

I do not share this concern. However, it sounds like as if you want to take the Select version to gain the "office" as a basement replacement room. Then I would question how truly suitable this basic design is for you. What are your motives for the Icon 3?

We have meanwhile decided against the Selectschnitt. We are planning a large garage with storage space and possibly additional extensions in the garden, as our property is very large. There are only two of us, and we already feel that the 3+ is sufficient for us.

What alternatives have you considered?

Hello, this might not fit exactly to the topic - but I would generally never build with Dennert Massivhaus. I had a very unpleasant experience there. A Mr. G. was incredibly rude and unenthusiastic - that immediately made us decide to better stay away from such a company (we definitely think good support during the house construction is important). In the end, he even wanted to tell us that Dennert Massivhaus does not build houses over 150m². To work with that kind of attitude. Very unfortunate. It is very difficult to find the right company.. we keep looking. Best regards

And it suggests that Mr. G. is a commission representative and about to move to another provider. I would not let that bother me. The fact is, this provider's catalog models are within a certain size range - but with their system, other designs could also be built.
