Hello everyone,

we want to build and where we want to build, the existing house first has to be removed. The house and all supply and disposal lines are so old that nothing can be saved anymore.

Does anyone have experience with this? A demolition company, which seems quite competent to me, said that mainly gas and water have to be disconnected. Electricity could also be disconnected with the excavator, and telecom is very rarely disconnected beforehand.

Especially regarding the last point, I am looking for experience: Has anyone ever demolished here? What did you do with the telecom line?

Of course, I am a bit skeptical, but on the other hand, I attribute competence to the demolition company.

Hello,

um, somehow I lack faith in the competence of the demolition company...

Cutting the power with the excavator? No words...
The energy supplier will certainly have something to say about that.

At our demolition last March, the energy supplier disconnected the power, the water was shut off by the city’s water master, and we dug up the telecom cable ourselves and, rolled it up on a post, hung it up.

Just imagine, the excavator driver tears off the phone cable so clumsily during demolition that the break is under the street – that would mean, if you also want a telecom connection, that the street has to be dug up and, after relaying the cable, refilled and asphalted again – just like that, €5,000 are gone – and for what?

With our demolition company, it was explicitly stated in the offer that, except for wastewater, all lines have to be disconnected when the demolition begins.

Regards,

Dirk

All lines from the supplier were also disconnected in the public area at our place. And Telekom also disconnected the corresponding line in the sidewalk. It all also cost nothing. The excavator option also seems rather strange to me....

I still see Telekom as relatively relaxed (except, and this is to be feared here, the "hero" really tears the cable...) - but cutting the power line with an excavator??? I actually trust some blue-collar DIY heroes more for that :/
