Okay, thanks already, I was a bit unsettled because the heating engineer noted a minor defect on his protocol during the handover. However, nowhere was a defect-free acceptance explicitly checked. All the work I have done on the house so far by myself (installing corner valves on the washbasin) or by another company commissioned by me (installing a photovoltaic system on the roof) took place in consultation with the site manager and/or the main contractor’s trade.

Yes, and that’s why you should go to a lawyer with your case! The 200 euros are well invested! Because where it says VOB, it’s not always VOB inside, for example. Just as an example. It doesn’t help me to read through what is regulated in the VOB if the craftsman has not presented it to me, it does not apply. Then the Building Code applies, and ONLY an expert can tell you that for your case, not a forum!

I cannot accept the general statement: acceptance = approval!

depends on whether VOB yes or no.

if VOB, then the subsequent trade accepts the previous one as free of defects when starting work. if YOU are the subsequent trade "painting" and you start painting, you can no longer criticize drywall or plaster afterwards.

acceptance is usually an appointment with the site manager where an acceptance protocol is usually recorded and signed. what does your contract say?

Do you really think that there are no experts here as well? Please just read a little. You are simply not right!

So I went to the lawyer with exactly this topic, then you must be a greater expert than him and I will ask you in the future.
