Cracks in L-stone - what is a shrinkage crack, what is a defect?

Thank you for the information. Do you have any tips on how to find out now? "Over time" means in the worst case that it only really becomes noticeable in 4-8 years – and then the warranty is obviously void.

Not really.
Do I understand correctly that the cracks are on the 'pressure-opposite' side of the stones? That means the ground is on the other side?
Then in my opinion they can only be settlement cracks, unless someone drove a digger against them.
If there had been too much pressure on the other side, the stone would have had to crack on that side as well.
Furthermore, the two cracks running almost parallel speak against a fracture. If the stone had broken in one place, it wouldn't also break in a second place.
If you want to be completely sure, you probably need to have some expert prepare a report.
But that will probably be more expensive than eventually replacing the piece if it really is broken.
My recommendation: leave it alone for now.
It's not that great if a digger rushes through your garden again.

Yes, the cracks are on the pressure-opposite side.

However, the L-stone also had damage at the top (probably from heavy machinery) that was corrected with some concrete mass. Therefore, I am not entirely sure whether it might have been caused by that.
Since the neighbor does not yet have a landscaped garden, a replacement would currently be easier than later on...

How should this be regarded from an aesthetic point of view? The stone is now covered with some concrete mass, but it is anything but neat.
