Hello everyone, we want to build soon in LK Freising and are not sure whether it is better to install a brine-water heat pump with geothermal probes or a water-water heat pump with a well. What costs (estimates) can be expected if a well or geothermal probes have to be installed? Also, the advantages and disadvantages would be helpful. The reason why we do not want an ASHP: Currently, there is no ASHP that achieves an annual performance factor of 4.5 or better when entering the values into the annual performance factor calculator. And we need 4.5 for funding.

Search "5 things you need to know about heat pumps" in the search engine of your choice, then the first result "ihre-Wärmepumpe" has everything nicely organized.

What you should also take a closer look at is the RingGrabenKollektor. It is also a brine heat pump where at about 1.5-2 meters depth in the garden the pipe is laid in a ring shape. There, with good calculation/selection of the heat pump suited to the energy needs of the house, an annual performance factor of 4.5 should also be achievable. And with the RingGrabenKollektor, you can do a lot with your own effort, so the RingGrabenKollektor variant is definitely cheaper than the relatively high costs for the 2 wells or the deep drilling for the probe (however, the costs also strongly depend on the location and on how many providers you have nearby for such things).

Ring trench collector cannot be built due to the insufficient size of the property. We have a property of about 250 sqm. For the two-family house, that will be too little.

Hello Freisinger. We have also built in the district of Freising and, due to lack of space, had a deep collector installed by the Erdwärme Forum.

The functionality here is like a loop trench collector but deeper and more space-saving. However, it must be said that the brine temperatures are definitely lower than with a loop trench collector.

If I were you, I would aim for a water-water heat pump. Freising is quite deep in the groundwater! The deep drilling was far too expensive for us. Offers for this ranged between 12 and 15k!! The deep collector cost 6500€.

A tip. The architectural office Herzog in Fliederstraße has installed a water-water heat pump in their office... you can take a look at it there (I did that too).

Hello Woogl, thanks for the tip. I can definitely do that sometime.

Actually, until yesterday we were still set on an LW heat pump because we thought it would work. According to the heating technician, it doesn't work after all.
