Hello,

I have received an offer for a geothermal drilling. Approximately €21,000 for 260 meters of drilling (2*130m, water protection area, no use of antifreeze possible), heating load about 8kW.
Can someone tell me how the offer compares price-wise?
Or whether it is even worth pursuing geothermal energy further?
It is quite a lot when I read that some have paid €6,000.

Best regards and thanks
Steffen

I'll look for a current offer from my BV for you this evening. There should also be a thread here where I broke down an offer from 2012. It's a bit difficult to link with Tapatalk. Off the top of my head, it seems rather expensive to me if it's just the drilling. I think we're at 11kw for 12k-14k. Location Middle Franconia. More details this evening. Regards, Stephan

260m for 8kW?! Wow. I’d pass on that. Price per meter of drilling is too high for me.

I look for our documents when I have time.

To me, it also seems a) too expensive and b) inefficient.

Where do you want to drill/build?

In Pforzheim.
So the probe and the horizontal probe lines are also included.
The pure geothermal probe drillings alone cost just under 14,000 net.

Attached is the offer for our inquiry for a drilling. Heating capacity is 10.5kW, 192 drilling meters divided into 4x 48m. The price is within your range at 14,600 EUR, but with more heating capacity. The brine-water heat pump would have been a Tecalor TTC10 and would cost another 12,500 EUR including installation etc.
The decision has not yet been made on our side, but we are currently leaning towards the air-water heat pump, which would be tutto completto at 14,500 EUR (Alpha Innotec or Novelan). That means the pure additional costs would be 12,500 EUR; when you offset the BAFA subsidies (air-water heat pump 1,500 EUR, brine-water heat pump 5,000 EUR), the additional price for the brine-water heat pump is still a good 9,000 EUR and thus exactly in the range where I would neither say full conviction "definitely not" nor "definitely yes."
For us, this is also a topic partly because the air-water heat pump would stand directly in front of the house in the front yard – and those things just look ugly. A compromise would be an Ochsner, but those are significantly more expensive, which means they also nibble away at the 9,000 EUR difference. From that point of view, a nicely "invisible" brine-water heat pump definitely has its appeal and also provides cooling comfort in summer... but for a 9,000 EUR surcharge (or 6-7,000 EUR in the case of the Ochsner)?! Difficult...
Hope the offer helps you to classify your own somewhat. Are you very limited in space or would the installation location of the air-water heat pump be stress-free?

Best regards,
Stephan
