Cost of renovating a single-family house

Hello.

We are currently considering buying a single-family house. Year of construction 1880.
Now the question is, of course, how much the renovation would cost since it is not possible to move in like this.

Downstairs there are 75m²: 4 rooms:
New gas heating,
New water pipes,
New electrical wiring.
5 new windows.
New front door.

Upstairs then an attic conversion with
4 rooms + 1 WC +
4 roof windows.

What would be a rough estimate in euros? Just a rough estimate since I have no idea at all.
Unfortunately, there is no one in the family who could help. So we would need companies for everything.

No one can tell you that. Only that it will cost a lot of money. Get an expert who can estimate the renovation effort. Without having seen it, it cannot be judged.

- Insulate walls

- Insulate roof

- Sanitary fixtures / tiles new

- Floor and wall coverings

- hidden defects that only appear during renovation

As has already written: Hire an expert, then you will have clarity.

If I were you, I would be more interested in the condition of the building structure. In 1880 – unless you misread the line – no one had heard of soil surveys yet ;)

Commission an expert you trust and walk through the property with him. He will be able to inform you well about the condition of the single-family house; also regarding the costs of a sensible renovation.
