We are planning to expand the ElternHaus, meaning the parents will live on the ground floor above the basement. We will live on the first floor. Currently, the ground floor is heated with night storage heaters and a tiled stove. The upper floor MUST be completely redone; it is not insulated yet and has only been used as an attic until now. How much does a pellet heating system cost for both parties approximately? Heating area on the ground floor is 100 sqm and on the upper floor 150 sqm. Would 25,000 euros be enough or rather 50,000 because two apartments would then be heated?

Depends on whether you want to do some of it yourselves or not. Presumably, they haven't even installed radiators and such yet. That's already quite extensive. I believe there is also a subsidy for the pellet heating system from Bafa. But I'm not entirely sure. Maybe you can do some of the work yourselves, that way you can save a good amount of money.

Of course, it also depends somewhat on the heating load (size of the pellet system, size and number of radiators, ...). For the living area to be heated, I would assume at least 40T for a proper system with everything included. But don't forget the aforementioned subsidies. More info gladly via PM, we recently had something similar done.

Good day
I already have two pellet central heating systems 22+25kW in two houses 200+300sqm standing in the living rooms for 2+5 years.

Each cost about €4000 and is connected directly without a buffer, very economical in pellet consumption, more than 30% less than pellet boilers that are located in basements.
Radiators, pipes from Hornb or Obi designed for 300-400 watts per sqm instead of just 80 watts, large radiators cost only slightly more.
Underfloor heating in both houses 160 watts per sqm, also three times as much as usual, therefore no buffer with losses is needed.
Energetic renovation measures can also be omitted as consumption almost halves even without them.

The other pellet variant, which is not yet known here, subsidies will become very expensive, they prescribe a lot of nonsense, it is difficult and you only get little, but both heating systems have already paid off completely after 3-4 years.
And they also burn significantly cleaner than €20,000 devices.
Next BlmschV3 also no problem.

Regards
