Cost for retrofitting three roof windows?

We intend to purchase a detached house with a gable roof from 1995. The gable roof is planned completely without skylights. The floor plan is perfect for us, but we find it a bit too little light.

We would therefore like to have skylights installed in three rooms. We cannot do anything ourselves.

We have now done a bit of research online about the costs for such windows themselves and think that you could get decent Velux windows for 600-800 euros? Then there is the installation, for which we have found extremely varying information? And a proper blind would of course have to be installed as well.

Do you have experience with such a retrofit? How much did you approximately pay for it? Is the repeatedly found information that the labor effort should be about 2-3 working days realistic?

Not quite fitting, but might still help a little. We had to replace 3 double casement windows here in the apartment building. They were quite large windows, I think 170 cm in height. The whole thing took about 1.5 days since it was just a replacement and cost 9,500 euros. You always have to keep in mind, the craftsman will still add a little margin on top of the window.

For our roof renovation, we paid €1700 for the 140 x 66 Velux GPU window including an electric external roller shutter and installation without cladding. The electrical connection was then done by our electrician. We did the cladding with drywall ourselves. But the price only comes about because they were doing the roof for us anyway. A proper installation is not going to be cheap. But I would definitely have it done, just to ensure that the window was installed correctly and the roof remains watertight.

I wouldn't do that, that way you lose quite a few offers right from the start.

Hard question. Given the current workload, a craftsman doesn't really have to look on MyHammer, unless... and that's the problem, you want it to be done well. I have to say, cheap is not always affordable, and as soon as it's your own property, you notice that quickly. Even if people try to talk nonsense.

I bought my double casement windows myself (Velux GPU 134x140 850 EUR) and had them installed by the roofer for 210 EUR each. 2 windows took about 1.25 working days.
