Here I also quote from a question of mine from another thread, which may have been somewhat overlooked:

I don’t need a detailed answer here (which isn’t possible anyway without basic information) – I’m interested in a tendency (so I can possibly take it into account in future planning).

Thank you very much for your answer.

Definitely flat roof. The sealing costs there.

Hello,

Definitely the flat roof option. Initially due to the more complex waterproofing and furthermore the fact that the roof is intended to be walkable. However, from my point of view, the latter only seems economically reasonable if it is a two-family house and the second resident or possibly tenant has no garden access.

In a classic single-family house, it has been shown that a terrace on the first floor is used little to not at all, since there is sufficient terrace and garden space at ground level. It is comparable to the topic of a party room in the basement. That room is used a maximum of 1-2 times, then the housewife/househusband drives the guests out to the terrace

Rhenish regards

@all Thank you very much for the feedback. This rules out a flat roof option. It could have been that the removal of the roof truss + tiles might offset the costs of sealing or even result in savings. Well - I'm not a fan of flat roofs anyway and now I have another argument against them.

Apart from the costs, what I like better about the flat roof variant is that on the 1st floor there are no spatial restrictions caused by the sloping roof. Fully usable rooms, better options for arranging furniture.... I find a second full story much more pleasant....
