It’s not necessary. We also skipped the screed in the laundry room; you can get the concrete quite smooth. You just need to measure the heights properly beforehand and set up wood strips for screeding. A vibratory bottle is also invaluable. That way, we poured about 40 square meters of concrete and then tiled it—without problems.

Morning

I consider a gas heater to be the worst of all options.
Noisy, the exhaust gas remains in the room and thus also large amounts of moisture.

If there is already a water-based heating system in the room, the cost for a few meters of underfloor heating pipe is no longer worth mentioning.

The heating would indeed be in the adjoining room. However, I still have two XXL radiators (quite massive) left over. I will install them instead of the underfloor heating.

So. I spoke with the first screed installer. His suggestion:

12cm base (treated on top with some kind of hard grain)
5cm XPS
Foil / roofing felt

The next one is scheduled for Monday. Let's see what he says...

Same opinion! I have been using PVC panels for my garage floor for years without any problems

Hello Mr. Neubauer,
Three years ago we sealed our garage floor with a resin coating. Unfortunately, tire marks are visible in the spot where the car always stands. Do you have the same problem with the plates? I can’t imagine how the plates are supposed to protect the floor. Doesn’t water get through the joint? Our concrete floor is C25/30.

We often park 1 motorcycle and 2 cars permanently in the garage. For more than a year now, no marks are visible. However, the coating gives a very stable impression. Caution! According to the craftsman, the coating must absolutely be glued because otherwise water will penetrate through the loose joint. We received a total of 3 quotes from 4 companies for our 50 sqm garage. From €1500.00 up to €6000.00!? So it pays to compare!
