Hello everyone,
We plan to renovate our closed kitchen, remove a wall, and build an open kitchen.
Now I have been pondering how we want to arrange it and can’t find a good solution. This would be the floor plan.
Today, cooking is done in the "corner" at the top left with the back to the room, and we have two dining tables, one in the kitchen with a corner bench, and one in front of the kitchen, where it should also be in the future. The floor tiles correspond to the "old" room. We will lay new tiles, meaning the wiring can be placed in the middle of the room. Theoretically, we could also route other lines to the middle of the room, below the room is the basement, so it’s easy to drill through.
There are a few prerequisites:
- The sink should stay where it is today (left by the window), among other things because of the connections and the view while washing up.
- The large sliding door at the bottom will be redone; changes can still be made there. Today, the section consists of a window and a door. This is also the access to the terrace & garden. We want a large glass front there so that the terrace feels more connected to the house. In front of it is a covered terrace. I’m not quite sure whether it will be a sliding door or a large glass front with a door; visually, I would prefer a sliding door, but I don’t find that very practical – but that is another topic. Important for the kitchen: There is a passage to the outside.
So far, this is my best option:

The cabinets and appliances don’t have to be exactly like this (nor the color); it’s initially about a first approach for the floor plan.
What I don’t like about it is mainly the lack of work surfaces.
The passage next to the tiled stove is a bit narrow, but that is already the case today and can probably hardly be changed, unless the dining table is placed much further into the living room – but then the distances become too long.
Do you have any other creative ideas?
