No, these are different insurances. You can take out building and fire shell construction insurance independently, but you don't have to.

All three are required.

I also don't understand the whole discussion. We are talking about really manageable amounts here. I had the broker here yesterday. Liability insurance costs less than €100. The construction work is about €170. A residential building insurance is between €200-300 including deductible and is only due upon moving in.

How much does your construction cost? 150,000 euros?

Hehe, yes, you are absolutely right. Our construction start was moved forward from March/April to, attention, TOMORROW...

Therefore, in many respects, I am not as well informed on the topic as I would like to be.

The offers I have are as follows: Builders liability insurance: €96 Construction insurance: €357 (without fire) Construction sum ~300,000€

Ah, I was not aware of the due date upon moving in. I had understood that it was due immediately.

Many thanks to you all for the detailed explanation.

The due date of a residential building insurance is usually immediate and generally counts for one year from moving in. Before that, the fire shell construction insurance is often included free of charge.

As long as only the base slab is in place, I do not yet see a need for the fire shell construction insurance. So you still have a few days for that.

I see things differently when it comes to the builder’s liability insurance. That is already urgent. However, please check whether your personal liability insurance may already cover this. With comprehensive tariffs, this can certainly be included for your own home.
