Construction of a flat sloped shed roof

Have you ever considered what height difference over 11 m corresponds to a roof pitch of 7 - 10°? If so, you would realize that the desired roof indeed reflects the shape of a shed roof.

You probably haven't read much in the forums about the kinds of weird roofs some people want to hide behind parapets.

If you would also like to contribute constructive comments on the mentioned variants, or even suggest another variant, it would certainly help not only me but all other readers as well.

All other readers will come to realize on their own that a roof pitch of 7 to 10° is not ideal for photovoltaics.

Our single-story house has a 5° roof pitch and a 2.5m roof overhang, making the shed roof clearly visible. Especially on the inside, as the room height increases toward the southwest side along with the roof slope. The roof overhang offers a nice covered terrace, effective sun protection in midsummer, the large window areas allow a certain amount of energy gain in autumn and spring, and the high rooms provide a spacious interior.

In the current new building, the pitch is also 5°, which in the visually two-story building without a roof overhang is hardly noticeable from the outside. Here, the optimal use of the conditions in the development plan was decisive. Legally single-story because the stairwell, bathroom, kitchen, and utility room partially have room heights under 2.20m and there are otherwise no restrictions due to roof slopes.

The roof construction is identical on both houses: root-resistant bitumen sealing membrane - boarding - 6cm air layer - DWD board 1.6cm - KVH 28cm insulated with Rockwool - OSB 18mm - KVH 6cm insulated with Rockwool - boarding - gypsum board.
In very heavy rain, noises from outside are audible but not disturbing.
