You need personal professional advice, someone who can form their own opinion. One tip: resist the reflex to see the building authority as an opponent. In negotiations, it helps to understand what would be beneficial for the other party or how they can save face. Often, from this understanding, solutions can be found that make everyone's eyes shine, instead of creating winners and losers.

@hamspire, I am finding it very difficult not to see the building authority as an opponent right now. But of course you are right.

, I have a very experienced architect who is also a construction manager. He has also built there before. It was a recommendation. In this respect, I was taken completely by surprise. My also very experienced specialist lawyer for construction and administrative law is shocked as well; she has already filed an objection, saying the construction stop is unlawful. However, my experience with authorities tells me that they usually get what they want, lawful or not. They want to see a green field again there and have all 30 (!) holiday homes removed.

Well, if the experts are active, then wait and drink tea. I think it is counterproductive to continue building. Your experts have surely told you that.

I wouldn't start ranting right away, otherwise you'll immediately run into a legal dispute. The authorities don't care. Seeking a conversation is the better way. I think there are enough cases where, purely by chance, during the work one of the walls worth preserving was knocked down ;-) The authorities must know such cases by the dozen and therefore react allergically.
