Construction contract signed under pressure. Was that a mistake?

Hello, I need some advice or your assessment. I signed a construction contract with my construction company shortly before Christmas......

We had received the award for the plot of land the day before. In our euphoria, I signed on the advice of the seller to save myself the price increase for 2018 and so that he would make a draft for us.

I felt a bit rushed and had it added as a supplement that the construction contract depends on financing. If I do not have the financing within 6 months, the contract would be void.!?!???

Now I have doubts whether I want to build with the company (for several reasons).

Now my question. How should I proceed if I want to part ways with the company?

Simply not provide financing?

Honestly say I don't want to do it anymore because it's too expensive, etc.?

Ask what I owe so far if I withdraw?

I am afraid of a lawsuit for lost profits of the company! (maybe exaggerated!?)

So far we have met twice and now our house has once been placed on our breakfast table as a draft example proposal. That's it!

Oh yes, a proper sampling has not yet taken place, only quickly to include the most important things. Brick, roof tile, something like that. The seller said it doesn't matter how expensive the house ends up being. The main thing is that the base price is secured.

Thanks to you

P.s It would be possible to get a rejection from the bank. A considerable amount of the equity capital is deposited elsewhere and might suddenly no longer be available. But I want to build and then it would theoretically be (my imagination?) obvious to the company that the money was there hmm

This is now the classic case that should no longer happen. [emoji17]
It is not unusual that nothing has been "done" yet. And yes, it's true: the base price is set, everything else will be itemized.

Is the company suddenly too expensive? Or do you simply have a cheaper offer?
Do you definitely want to get out of the contract, or do you just feel that way because you feel rushed or uncertain?

Spoke with the building expert today. It is a company originally from DK that he says just meets the German standards. So poor to medium quality in every aspect. Additionally, they are rather expensive, but I already knew that. Now I'm afraid the quality is not right and the company will disappear again in a few years, leaving me with no contact person. ( ist seit 5 Jahren auf dem Markt ) I will get an opinion from a second building expert.

Better to have a specialist lawyer review the contract.

You can only really answer that with the exact clause from the contract. However, usually a self-submitted rejection is not sufficient. Most of the time, withdrawal is excluded if you can be promised "any" financing, regardless of the interest rate, and the builder typically provides such financing.
