Hello everyone,
I am considering buying a condominium. Unfortunately, I have little personal experience with this.
Briefly about my situation:
At the moment, I still live with my parents and have about 30 m² for myself there.
Since I am employed, I would like to move closer to my workplace. Ideally, I would finance the apartment entirely with equity. Or does partial external financing make more sense given the current interest rate environment?
My question is:
What acquisition costs should I expect for a 30-40 m² apartment? The location should definitely be rather rural, if possible near Rheda-Wiedenbrück/Gütersloh. The condition does not have to be perfect; I am quite willing to invest some work myself. The floor is basically indifferent to me, preferably basement. But an attic would also be okay with appropriate insulation. It can also be a former social housing unit or a foreclosure. A former fellow student of mine is a civil engineer and would look at the apartment with me in advance.
Before the purchase, I would also seek legal advice to have the purchase contract etc. checked.
Is it possible to make any forecast on how the housing market will develop? Buy now or wait? Are there seasonal effects that influence the price? Buy through an agent or privately? What pitfalls should definitely be avoided?
Thank you all in advance!
