Hello,
Maybe you can help me.
Our concrete staircase is enclosed by 2 walls, it will get wooden treads 4cm thick and risers 2cm thick.
1. Problem
The walls are not the same length. One wall is shorter. But you could make it equal to the other wall by using 2 drywall panels.
2. Problem
Here the walls would also be too short. The lowest tread sticks out. Shortening is not possible because of the riser.
Stair builder's idea:
Simply pull out the lowest tread a bit and make it wider, so it would be in front of the two walls.
I don't really like that.
Couldn't you just attach a drywall panel to the concrete at the bottom instead of a riser, plaster it... that way you could shorten the tread too... or maybe you have an idea.
