Concrete splash protection strips instead of gravel

Hello everyone,

we are currently building a semi-detached house. The general contractor wants to make the splash protection strip out of 30cm wide concrete slabs. In your opinion, is that okay? Visually it’s not great, but does it serve its purpose or is it rather counterproductive? Is that even allowed?

I consider that counterproductive.
Properly installed splash guards ensure that rainwater soaks into the ground gently and well, instead of bouncing off surfaces and thus dirtying the facade.
Concrete slabs ensure that neither happens.
Besides, it’s not exactly a visual highlight, which is why I wouldn’t want it on the house for that reason alone.

…Later the base is wet because all the water runs compressed down the concrete slab at the base. Consequence: standing water -> repair damage!
