Hello everyone,
In the living room of my attic apartment, I have beams with wooden boards lying on top as the ceiling. Visually, I find it very nice, but the insulation is zero. I would like to lay styrofoam boards between the beams and then drywall panels on top, so that some of the wooden beams will still be visible. Would it be sufficient if I use 40mm thick styrofoam boards, then 12.5mm thick drywall panels on top, and seal these on the outside against the wooden beams with acrylic? That way I would have some insulation.
Or is there possibly the option to insulate the whole thing from above, meaning to lay insulation material on the attic floor or similar.
Regards
