Hello,
we are currently also getting some offers for prefabricated houses and now comes the exciting question of which heating technology would be suitable for us, brine heat pump or gas heat pump.

Brine:
Variable output brine-water heat pump (ground source heat pump) with integrated 180-liter hot water storage tank and ventilation system with heat recovery (supply air decentralized, exhaust air centralized)
- Brine-water heat pump Nibe F1255
- NIBE FLM (supply air decentralized, exhaust air centralized)

Gas:
Gas condensing compact unit with 150-liter stratified storage tank + controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery + solar domestic hot water heating
- Vaillant auroCOMPACT VSC S 146/4-5 150 or 206/4-5 150
- 150-liter stratified storage tank including integrated solar usage in the unit
- Vaillant auroTHERM VFK 145V
- Vaillant recoVAIR 260 or 360 (supply air and exhaust air centralized)

House:
- Danwood house type "Point 127.16"
- 1 1/2 stories
- Knee wall 1.30m
- 130 sqm
- KFW 55
- Base plate

My questions:
1. What will the two variants roughly cost me?
2. Which variant is more efficient and also more cost-saving over the years?
3. Is a photovoltaic system with 5KWp worthwhile?
4. Do both variants qualify for the BAFA subsidy?
5. How good or bad are the individual listed devices?

I am currently trying to get into the topic but often it is just Greek to me.^^

Best regards & thanks

3) In my opinion, the decision has nothing to do with the heating. In summer, photovoltaics are naturally stylish for hot water with a heat pump. Whether it is worth it.... case by case... you have to calculate.

But please explain to me where the second-mentioned device is supposed to be a heat pump. That is a gas heater. And that probably settles the matter with [Bafa], although I don't know exactly what they currently support and whether your first-mentioned heat pump is included.

Yes, I overlooked that, it is a gas boiler and not a heat pump.

Then there is no Bafa subsidy for gas condensing boilers.

Doesn't anyone else have any idea whether [Sole Wärmepumpe], [Gasbrennwerttherme (KfW55)] + [Solar] or [Gasabsorbtions Wärmepumpe] + [Solar]? Rough estimated annual consumption of the house 10,000 kWh.

Hello Steve_D,

the question is certainly difficult to answer in general terms. It always depends heavily on the situation on site and personal preferences. Some further points for consideration:

- Ground collectors/ground probes, what does the geographical situation on site look like for this?

- How many people will be living in the house?

- Estimation of hot water consumption, very interesting with regard to the heat generator (especially the heat pump)?

- If you are planning with photovoltaics, a high degree of self-consumption is essential to achieve a reasonably good economic efficiency.

Tendentially, I find the variant with the combination of gas/solar very sensible, also because you will not have a basement floor and according to Vaillant an installation as a roof central unit is possible.

Best regards, Erik from moderne.Heizung
