Hello everyone,
I am currently planning a house. Of course, heating technology is an important topic.
Every provider naturally says that their technology is the best.
Until now, there has always been a floor heating system with a ventilation system in the offers.
Now there is an offer where only a ventilation system (without floor heating) is included.
The whole thing is called Wohlfühlwärme-Technik. The used air in the kitchen and bathroom is extracted, and the air drawn in from outside is warmed by the extracted air.
The system also has a heat recovery feature, which I can use to warm my domestic hot water.

My question: Does anyone have experience with such a technology AND is that sufficient, or should a floor heating system definitely still be installed?!?

There are no other radiators, except for a fireplace in the living room.

Best regards, Lars

Hello,

That is the nature of the matter. Everyone wants/must sell!

A floor heating system has not only advantages but also disadvantages, as is the case with every type of heating surface. A floor heating system requires some care in planning. I don’t believe in a circulating air system; it will probably be a controlled residential ventilation system w/o heat recovery. There is nothing with circulating air!

A nice name! One should basically feel comfortable with the heat from any heating system! So that would not be something special.
It means an air heating system, where the necessary heat energy is supplied to the rooms via the supply air.
A solution that could be interesting at best for passive houses (PH). Decisive for this are always the specific room heating loads! Air is a very poor "energy storage" or "carrier". The reason is the low specific heat capacity.

That is heat recovery.

If you want to recover energy, it must first have been generated! An energy balance easily shows that there is often a drastic contradiction between effort and benefit.

Yes, I have planned such systems before. They are only suitable for very specific boundary conditions.

Basically, every modern heating system requires an exact calculation if you value an energy-efficient solution! And you should, because the investments are sometimes considerable. This should not be done by the seller/installer but by an independent planner.
Unfortunately, complaints from builders are increasing significantly, especially in general contractor projects. The systems do provide heat, but energy efficiency is usually impossible to find. The main cause: no or inadequate heating load calculation/heating surface dimensioning. Errors in hydraulics and thermal coordination of components. Wrong equipment selection and much more. Optimization does not take place anyway. Mostly, estimates, assumptions, and guesses are made.

Best regards
