The term "client" was the wrong word, I meant the contractor. I am the client. All the work is turning my brain into applesauce.
We looked for an architect to advise us, but as we realized only during the process, he apparently has his own ideas that he wants to enforce and tries to convince the customer of. Since we are already involved with him in the planning, I don't want to just throw the money away and write it off, but rather get him to do what we want in the end.
How do I recognize what is a special solution and what is not? I have an existing plot on which I would like to place an additional house with a double garage. The soil survey reveals some difficulties that cause extra costs, but otherwise, it should be as standard as possible. Can I upload the site plan along with our own sketch in this thread (or a new one) and hope for input?
