Hello people,

my aunt always says that she sprinkles her coffee grounds on the beds and that allegedly helps against snails. Does anyone know the trick too or is it just wishful thinking?

I have heard that too, but I don't believe that snails are deterred by coffee grounds. They probably like the taste as well.

That is surely like the beer in the traps, it practically lures the slugs into the garden, it's like an invitation to a coffee gossip.

I once tried the beer and then the drunks came from all over the area, I mean you only attract the snails that way.. :(

A snail does not care how rough the surface it crawls over is. They even go over razor blades without harming themselves. They certainly won't let a little coffee stop them.

See you then Schweindl

It is also always advised to use coarse sand but if you listen closely you will hear the snails giggling about the attempts to keep them away from the beds.

see you around
