Closing a 2 cm gap between the roller shutter box and steel beam

Expanding foam? Won't that be a perfect thermal bridge later? Then there is only the brick in front of it.

PU foam is Polyurethane, the material from which PUR insulation is made. No thermal bridge :-)

The same amount of PU foam unfortunately does not insulate quite as well as PUR insulation (0.2-0.3 compared to 0.3-0.4)

Just as feedback: the gap is actually even 7.5 cm wide, it seems that even more has changed with the new roller shutter model...

I have now discussed with my construction manager that 6 cm of insulation wool from the external insulation will be inserted there, the remaining 1.5 cm I would then fill with strips of the wool. Furthermore, 4 cm thickness are still missing at the roller shutter box to be flush with the Ytong, so that the box can be plastered. The plastering company now wants Wedi boards instead of Heraklith. According to the internet, this seems to be no problem regarding insulation.

So I'm done with the company through which we ordered the windows...
