Hello everyone,

First of all, Merry Christmas!

Now to my question:
What clear room height do you have in your new buildings?

In our construction specification, it states 2.635m (which is 10.5 bricks). According to our general contractor, the floor structure (including underfloor heating) will be 16cm, resulting in a clear room height of 2.475m. Assuming 1.5cm for tiles and 1cm for ceiling plaster (am I correct with my assumptions?), a final room height of 2.45m would result.

Our living/dining area will be just under 40sqm. Now I fear that the ceiling might feel oppressive. How is it for you?

An alternative would be 11 bricks for the ground floor. The development plan would allow that. It does not specify a maximum eaves height. 2.5 full floors are permitted.

Does anyone have experience with how much such an increase would cost approximately?

Best regards

The elevation should cost almost nothing. If you take a height made entirely of full stones, not every stone has to be cut individually = less working time. However, a few more stones have to be bought for this, which does not matter much - I would estimate TEuro 1 to 1.5.

Definitely choose the "higher" option if possible. We have a ceiling height of 2.6x cm. Living room/kitchen/dining area is one large room. From an aesthetic point of view, it is sufficient as it is now. If lower, it would feel very cramped for us. We saw this in a similar building. There it was 2.4x cm. It was not nice. Especially in larger, elongated rooms. You can never change that later. So do it right away. We had additional costs of about 900,- EUR.

Thank you for the feedback. My GU returns from vacation on 06.01. Then I will request an adjustment to 2.75m shell height, which is 12.5cm more.
