Good morning,

we are currently planning a new building in beautiful East Frisia ;-)
I have deliberately decided against a ventilation system. The house will be equipped with triple-glazed windows and the minimum insulation requirements.

What standard do we achieve with this? Would that be a Kfw 85 standard?

Which criteria do we still need to disclose to define or determine this?

We would be very grateful for your assistance ;-)

The Energy Saving Ordinance. Would recommend to everyone to insulate as much as possible... it doesn't cost much more. If you are afraid of insulation, feel free to use perlite or a monolithic wall structure made of uninsulated clay bricks. Especially if you build without ventilation, pay attention to "breathable" materials, clay plaster, wood, and a certain "leakiness" if possible. (All advice is based on some empirical experience: we are familiar with all three: ETICS (Styrofoam) without ventilation, "natural building" without ventilation, and conventional building with ventilation. The first was by far the most unpleasant.)

The construction company should be able to tell you that, as it is calculated individually for the house.

:

How do you come to the conclusion that insulating as much as possible wouldn’t cost much?

The benefit of insulation is also limited and rarely pays off, or only does so after decades.

Insulation is not a steeply rising curve either; the benefit eventually levels off.

We consciously do not insulate beneath the basement floor slab, nor do we insulate the walls to the maximum possible with clinker – it simply costs thousands of euros and effectively brings no benefit.

One should carefully weigh where to insulate how much and what one wants to invest for which effect.

Insulate as far as it makes sense - no 70 cm wall.
