I find that way too expensive. Landfill fees naturally vary greatly by region and due to high transport costs, the options are usually very limited. But the shoveling is completely disproportionate. I would rather slow down the truck schedule, rent an excavator and shovel myself or hire an excavator operator through classifieds. Boom, saved 4000€.

We had about 700t removed last year, on the invoice the shoveling including 2 days of a 16t excavator was 1,100€ net.

No, sorry... overlooked... we had an excavation pit of 13 x 13 with one meter :)

If they still come for free in this constellation… but I don’t think so.

Well, as I understood it, these are two separate offers. He himself said that he found a cheaper landfill, but they cannot pick up as quickly due to a lack of enough trucks. That would actually be more convenient.

With 30T for landfill and transport, they are not "free of charge" anyway.

With us, they did it with 2 trucks that came alternately. During the loading breaks, the remaining pile was pushed together with the excavator for further loading.

So I find both prices quite steep. I just checked that we paid 35€ per m³ (not per ton!). The 35€ net includes excavation and transport to the landfill (no additional costs regarding the excavation).

You have about 1000t, i.e. at about 1.60 t/m³ = approx. 625m³ * 35€ plus VAT = approx. 26,000€.

But you are supposed to pay 35K total? Correct. Or do I have a calculation error? (Topsoil is probably lighter, our soil was even close to 2t per m² (silt/clay))

So these are the offers I received (excluding VAT):

1.) 17€/t -> transport included, cannot maintain high frequency.

2.) 25€/t -> transport included, can maintain high frequency.

3.) 31€/t -> offer from the civil engineer who takes the earth to 2.)

We estimated 1000t.

The surcharge of 6 €/t for loading into the trucks is a thorn in our side and could have been considered in the cost calculation.

It feels like we are paying almost double to the civil engineer.

We are considering whether to postpone the construction by 2 weeks and have most of it done by a friendly excavator operator.
