Hey,

We want to build a city villa next year and came across the house in the picture, an open space and a huge window. Our dream.

But now we have found another construction company because we want to build ourselves and have planned the house freely with an architect.
Picture two shows what our architect has planned.

His reasoning for so many windows is that you would need a ring beam and it would rather be a glass facade, which would then not cost €8,000 but €30,000 or more.

What do you say about that, does anyone have experience or knows a window builder in and around Berlin who could help me.
We are aware that it will be more expensive, but this extreme?

I don't understand anything about that. I don't see a single smaller window in the architect's design. Thirty thousand instead of eight thousand for what?

And I have no idea regarding your question, but I have to say that the facade does not look good to me. There are an excessively large number of windows planned, which are in an unbalanced ratio to the walls,

So I think I understand the question. [Bild1] shows the dreamed glass facade. There is hardly any or no interruption of the window front from bottom to top. Corresponding air space of course. [Bild2] shows the planned design with interruption of the window front by the ground floor ceiling and without air space. Whether the price difference is justified, unfortunately I have no idea either.

Correct, the last one understood it. Both have airspace, but with one it's a whole glass surface and with the other there is a 50cm piece of wall in between and we don't want that, we only want glass and metal supports, just like in [Bild 1].

It is a she
Basically, you can count any answer, your question was just poorly phrased

The static structure is simply different, and that may cost.
