Hello everyone,

we are currently still in the comparison phase between 2 general contractors and are now trying to bring both to the same level.

Regarding valuation:

- Ceilings and walls completely in Raufaser
- Ceilings and walls completely in Dekoquarz

Which should be priced higher (material + labor) and by approximately what %? So that we can roughly estimate the costs in advance.

Thanks!

Is there something that is even less "high-quality" than woodchip wallpaper? At least it is probably significantly more expensive.

I find a brush-on plaster with a 1mm grain absolutely chic and would definitely prefer it. Woodchip wallpaper can be more easily damaged or show problem areas at edges after a while and depending on use. I have often applied brush-on plaster myself, from [Fa. Haering], and it was absolutely great. You can color it right away or paint over it later as desired, or also glaze it with color. From the basic feeling, this would be my absolute favorite; however, the probably necessary, cost-driving work steps of woodchip wallpaper would not make it look nicer in the end result. Woodchip wallpaper still reminds me of the 70s-80s, it was used everywhere back then; but that is just my personal view.

And therefore gladly found in rental apartments. In a private home rather the worst choice. Visually more appealing actually everything else (painter's fleece, wallpaper, fine plaster...). But obviously a matter of taste.

Not quite.
Quarz sand is additionally included in the Farne, usually 1mm or 2mm, whereby I clearly prefer 1mm. That's why it's called "Dekoquarz" and not "Dekofarbe".
That's quite a statement..... I recommend the OP to see the result "live" somewhere. Whenever I see Raufaser somewhere, it gets removed. I have viewed countless apartments with acquaintances; in the cheap/simple apartments there was 100% Raufaser.
Both definitely work, respectively before Raufaser I would definitely take Malervlies, which can then be painted any way you like or Streichputz can be applied on it.

Not necessarily. Depending on the preparatory work you can paint Streichputz directly onto the plaster after Tiefgrund, often this works without problems. If not then Malervlies and on top paint or Streichputz.
I wouldn't put cheap Raufaser on the wall in a fancy, costly house; for something I see all day I don't use a product that looks cheap.

It's also a matter of taste... I don't know anyone who would want to decorate their house with gold.
