Hello everyone!

I heard today that the bricklayers are starting today. We plan to bring a few drinks to the construction workers. I was thinking of putting down 1-2 cases of mineral water and a few soft drinks like cola. Do you think that is appropriate?

Unfortunately, I can't fully provide for the crews like some do, neither financially nor time-wise (we don't live right next door). But I don't think that's necessarily required, right? After all, we're not building with acquaintances who receive nothing for it, but with a general contractor. Still, we don't want to offer a "dry construction site." Occasionally, I thought we could also bring a few sandwiches or cake, but maybe not every day.

Do you think that would be okay? And would you also put out beer, or only non-alcoholic drinks?

Best regards
Kati

Definitely not a must. We occasionally brought something and left the boxes until they were empty. Interestingly, beer went the worst; people often skipped the after-work beer. Medium water was the hit. When we drove there, occasionally a thermos with coffee and/or some rolls. After the power was installed at the construction site, we left an old coffee machine with accessories there, and the construction workers brewed coffee themselves as needed. It definitely didn’t hurt, and the "collaboration" with them always worked well. Sometimes a task was postponed a bit to discuss with us whether we really wanted it that way or maybe differently. "If we do it this way, they waste space; we can do it this way, it would be better!?" But whether it was due to the refreshments? No idea.

Hello

still water and medium [werden sehr gerne genommen]. Possibly malt beer (but cold). One should avoid alcohol. Occasionally a few pastries or rolls. Small chocolate snacks or Hanuta went well.

Thank you all! Great ideas included. Especially the coffee machine that can be operated with construction site power by yourself is a good idea. And also little chocolate stuff like Hanuta and so on, that can be easily bought beforehand and brought by occasionally.

That could be misunderstood in certain circles

Hello PyneBite

I don't understand that. It's certainly a regional term for ?, yes how do you say it originally? Danish pastry, cinnamon rolls.
In which circles could that be misunderstood and how? I'm really curious.
