Dear users,

we need a carport with an integrated storage room.

We are undecided between an ordered one and one to build ourselves.

Does anyone have experience with a self-built carport?

For us, the financial aspect is the priority. We have helpers for assembly for both options.

Is it even worth building it completely by ourselves?

Thank you very much for your experiences and tips!

Not very effective, Qualle... What is probably done are kits that you can then screw together - however, it's a bit different from Lego - wood weighs and even more at a height of 2.4 m. Having it assembled of course costs money. Make sure the foundations are solid (have that done if you don’t trust yourselves) - carport including statics is available at the hardware store - that is probably the cheapest solution.

.. what else should one write there? Do you know the background? Do you know the circumstances? Do you know ****** etc. etc.? Your comment is also pointless ..

Here in the neighborhood, two people have just erected the frame of their carport. Foundation, supports, wooden frame. Duration ~3 weeks including painting the wood. It was already cut to size when it was delivered. A small crane was needed for the assembly + another craftsman who coordinated the construction and operated the crane.
It would have been even more complex with a storage room...
A steel frame carport would probably have been easier to assemble, but that also depends on: planning, coordination, material selection, proper foundations. I would have it done by professionals.

Regards
I.

@ Hausqualle: You could have saved yourself your rather tactless and low-level comment. My profession has little to do with my question. The circumstances you come to mention on your second attempt, I do not want to tell you. You are out!
