Calcium silicate brick interior/exterior insulation

Hello blurboy,

the house was built in '66 and I assume that this was not known at the time.
Not only the exterior walls are insulated from the inside but the entire room (except the floor) as shown in the link Chapter 3 Image 5.

Do I understand correctly that due to this internal insulation an external insulation is not so advantageous or only one of the two, with external insulation being the better choice.

Hello,

The previous owner did not add additional insulation retrofitted for nothing. That this is professionally a no-go, a specialist advisor could have explained to you in time before the purchase contract was signed. (Intentional deception?, Hidden defect?)
Now it can easily become a money pit.

That is probably the case.

Hello Euro,

no money has been transferred yet, the previous owner (an inheritance community) is still clearing out.

An appraiser was in the house but saw no problem with this interior insulation?
Although I had mentioned an exterior insulation?
