Hello everyone,
we are currently considering having a custom-built fitted wardrobe for coats, shoes, etc. made under the stairs in the hallway.
At the moment, we have a two-stringer staircase (with risers) planned, and we are wondering whether this is the right type of staircase for such an idea due to its rather open construction. Visually, we like it best if the fitted wardrobe is completely "closed" (I hope I am expressing myself clearly; otherwise, just google cabinet fitted wardrobe stairs, first result in image search). From an initial Google search, it seems to me that this does not work so well with two-stringer staircases, since on the one hand the steps protrude over the stringers and – I think this is the main point – the railing is attached to the stringers, meaning that the wardrobe would have to be built or clad around the railing brackets…
Does anyone have an idea which types of stairs are best suited for such a project? We can still choose the staircase...
Many thanks!
