Hello everyone,

my wife and I have been following here for some time and are now starting to plan the construction of our single-family house on a slight slope. Since we are both quite sensitive to noise, a quiet design of the building services (and soundproofing in the house in general) is extremely important to us.

Since the topic is very complex, my aim with this thread is to collect hints and tips on what to pay attention to. We have already added the following points to our list:
- Gas heating instead of air heat pump
- Sound insulation for wastewater pipes
- Preferably place the lifting system in an external shaft rather than inside
- Choose interior blocks with higher sound insulation
- Do not install the shower level with the floor, as this would require foregoing sound insulation
- Soundproof door in the basement to the technical room
- Dimension the residential ventilation rather generously and pay attention to silencers and air outlets
- ...

Do you have any other useful points to consider?
Do you see some of the above points differently or do you think any are pointless?

Thank you very much
ufr

We had all that in mind too ... Unfortunately, everything became way too expensive if you implement all of it. Especially better bricks (Perlit) and interior walls would have been very expensive. Unfortunately, there was no gas connection either ... But it was important to me that, as you already said, the pipes are well insulated and that we have enough doors in the house, so no open floor plan. That you can also close the door sometimes.

Heating with a masonry heater is quiet and environmentally friendly, infrared panels are silent. Ventilation is always audible. Gas boilers also make "noise". Another advantage of the solution: radiant instead of convective heat. Healthy and pleasant.

Soundproof doors + frames and soundproof windows.

No roller shutters, no skylights.
