Good evening,

we obtained a building plot via a lottery in the development area of our hometown. This has many advantages, but also a few drawbacks. Therefore, we are currently unsure whether to commit finally... We cannot yet fully assess one of the drawbacks and are now hoping for your experiences and knowledge.

A microwave link runs above the property. The following information comes from the development plan:
Microwave links
A microwave link runs through the planning area. To avoid possible future interferences, planned buildings / constructions / cranes along the microwave route and in the protective strip (5 m on each side of the route) within the planning area should not exceed the following heights:
- max. building height 28 m.

Now we are concerned about how harmful living under such a link can be to health. There was absolutely nothing to be found about this on the internet.

Does anyone know more about this? We are grateful for any response.

Best regards
Julia

There is no problem. DECT radiation is higher. If you belong to the very anxious type, you must also turn off the electricity in the bedroom, no mobile phone, no DECT phone, no Wifi… If the property is otherwise suitable, I would not consider this as an exclusion criterion. You will not reach the height either.

CAN! Not must! So from the time when I was still working in the electrical trade... A customer had huge problems adjusting his satellite dish and his mobile phone had no reception at all, but on the neighboring property about 150 meters away it worked. One of our installers eventually found the solution for his elongated radio dead zone: it was a microwave link that he had installed himself once. Whether these things still emit such strong signals today I cannot answer, it was the early 2000s, but maybe ask the local specialist.

Who still needs SAT today? There's IPTV after all…
Phones have WiFi calling. Otherwise, we would have zero reception in our house too.
There are different types of "point-to-point radio". Simply put, from WIFI to laser and everything in between.

Therefore, the very first sentence: can, not must.

I already understood ;) As mentioned, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
