Hello, I want to build my garage (9x4.5) myself and have already contacted a structural engineer. A few questions came up, especially about the foundation. The engineer says I have to pour an 80 cm deep strip foundation (as frost protection), which is understandable. Now my question is: can I pour my slab directly on the strip foundation or can it only be poured against the strip foundation? And how wide should the strip foundation be at least for a 24 cm Ytong masonry? The engineer said about 36 cm. Thanks in advance.

Don't understand the question. Either you get a professional (structural engineer) and then do everything exactly as he designs it, or you do it yourself (as is usually done with garages), just by feel.

If you want to make a slab anyway, then you don't need a strip foundation, unless you are building on a slope. The slab doesn't protrude at the top anyway; it should be level accessible. Completely floating slab, if in doubt a bit thicker, concrete doesn't cost the world.

Excavate, compact as needed, build formwork, put in plastic sheeting, place bricks sporadically, lay reinforcement mats on the bricks, pour concrete straight from the mixer, screed it, done. The supplier will tell you which concrete is suitable when ordering.

Alright, I should probably mention that it was a casual phone call and he didn’t create any plans for me or anything like that. I actually just wanted to know how much the structural engineer would cost in case I needed one. But since I have now been to the building authority and don’t need one, I was hoping to get a few tips here. Of course, I want to build the garage myself and since I don’t need a structural engineer, I’ll also plan it myself.
