That is also okay. More unfair is rather the disparity among teachers according to school type and also there the collective agreement employees.

@TE

With the income, the amount left over monthly, and the equity, buying or building a property should not be a problem at all. Even if "only" €1200 per month is left to save – some people don’t even earn that much.

You can have a look to see if a property would be an option and then get an offer made just to see what would come your way.

Well, I wish it to you and anyone else who has this income, I'm a teacher's son myself ;) But this question – from educated people – is almost like a slap in the face to those wanting to build who really have to budget down to the last penny... I don't get it.

... at least a kind of person who no longer appears in their own contribution, probably because they lack the healthy humor to endure the statements regarding teachers and civil servants.

The civil servant bashing in this forum is really poor. We have free choice of profession in Germany. Anyone can become whatever they want. The teaching degree or an administrative studies would have been open to anyone here who meets the requirements. Those who do not want that and instead choose another profession do not need to be jealous and complain about their neighbor.

Teachers and civil servants were - at least in this thread - not bashed.

In view of the initial question:

We are wondering whether our income or its security is sufficient to dare the project "house construction/purchase" or whether we should rather save for a few more years.

linked with we could then only save 1,200 euros every month after the house construction

one does not need to be surprised about the comments...
